The Royal Swedish Yacht Club, KSSS, partners with Bluewater to turn Baltic Sea water into drinking water for summer visitors to the Stockholm archipelago island of Sandhamn to help protect its threatened underground water reservoirs and help avoid the use of disposable plastic bottles.
KSSS has taken the initiative to open a unique hydration station that serves fresh drinking water generated from water pumped directly from the sea. The water station has been built by Stockholm-based Bluewater, a world leader in easy-to-use water purification technologies.
Bluewater is excited to be supporting the sustainability efforts of Artemis Racing. Bluewater’s point-of-use water purifiers are helping the team fulfill their goal of banning the use of single-use plastic bottles throughout its Bermuda training base. Since late last year, the training base has been using three Bluewater Pro water purifiers to turn harvested rainwater into healthier water for drinking, cooking and washing.
Bermuda and the planet have been spared a quarter-of-a-million 500ml plastic water bottles during the three-and-a-half weeks of the America’s Cup on Bermuda thanks to Bluewater Pro and Spirit water purifiers!
The organizers of the prestigious 35th America’s Cup set their minds on banning plastic water bottles from the official venue – and Bluewater’s second generation water purifiers proved the ultimate go-to solution.
Bluewater water purifiers have saved the famous Blueberry Soup that refreshes athletes taking part in the 90-kilometer Vasaloppet Nordic Ski Marathon. The well water used to create the soup was deemed unfit to drink, but Bluewater’s remarkable water purification technology saved the day for the thousands of skiers who have relied on the energy-rich Blueberry Soup as the ultimate ‘race saver’ since 1958. Another great testimonial for how Bluewater turns tap (or well) water into healthier drinking water.
